Cookie usage policy.
What cookies are, what we use them for, and how you can control them from your browser.
Updated: June 2026
1. About this policy
This policy describes how S.C. NAUTIC PROFI S.R.L., operator of the online store nautic-profi.ro, uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. Please read it together with the Privacy Policy (/confidentialitate).
2. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file made of letters and numbers, stored on the computer, phone or other device you use to access the internet. Cookies are installed at the request of the web server to your browser and are completely passive — they do not contain software, viruses or spyware and cannot directly access information on your device.
There are two types of cookies by duration: session cookies (deleted automatically when you close the browser) and persistent cookies (remaining on the device for a defined period or until you delete them manually).
3. Categories of cookies we use
On nautic-profi.ro we use the following categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies: essential for the correct functioning of the site (shopping cart, login session, language preference). These do not require consent and cannot be disabled without affecting core functionality.
- Analytics and performance cookies: we collect aggregated and anonymised data on how visitors use the site, via Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. These tools measure page speed and traffic without personally identifying users.
- Preference cookies: remember your settings (e.g. selected language) to improve the experience on return visits.
We do not currently use behavioural advertising or retargeting cookies.
4. Third-party cookies
Our site infrastructure is hosted on the Vercel platform (Vercel, Inc., USA). Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights may place cookies or collect technical data (IP address, user agent, URL, response time) for performance analysis purposes. Data is processed under the Vercel privacy policy (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy).
If social media buttons or third-party embedded content appear on the site, those third parties may place their own cookies under their own policies. We do not control or take responsibility for third-party cookies.
5. Consent
Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent. For analytics and preference cookies, consent is collected through the cookie banner displayed on your first visit. You can revoke your consent at any time via your browser settings or by contacting us.
6. How to manage and delete cookies
You can control cookies directly from your browser settings. Instructions for the most popular browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.
- Safari (Mac/iOS): Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works (e.g. the shopping cart will not be retained between pages).
7. Cookies and personal data
Cookies in themselves do not require personal information to function and, in most cases, do not personally identify users. Where cookies are associated with personal data (e.g. account session), that data is encrypted and treated in accordance with the Nautic Profi Privacy Policy.
8. Security
Cookies are NOT viruses and do not contain executable code. They cannot access files on your device or act independently. However, we recommend keeping your browser and security software up to date to prevent exploitation of cookie-stored data by malicious actors.
